On October 1, 1989, 43 women around the world gave birth simultaneously, despite none of them showing any sign of pregnancy until labor began. 7 of these babies were adopted by an eccentric billionaire, Reginald Hargreeves, Ben among them. You'd think this would have been a good thing, gathering these kids no one really wanted or expected, but Reginald was more interested in creating a superhero team than a family. Despite this, the seven bonded in their own way, becoming brothers and sisters.

Ben was a reluctant instrument for Reginald and the team, dubbed The Umbrella Academy. His powers didn't really have a setting beyond lethal or vicious, and so Ben always hated using them. Then he died, which lead to the disbanding of the team.

You'd think that would be the end of Ben's story, but no. See, one of Ben's brothers, Klaus can interact with the dead, and so Ben found a sort of second life.

It is not as much fun as it could be.

Description:
Ben Hargreeves is of a medium build and height, with dark hair and eyes. He appears ethnically Korean and has one tattoo of an umbrella silhouette on his forearm. He is usually dressed in dark, monochromatic clothing which is always jeans, a hoodie, and the occasional jacket.

For those who can sense it, he is dead; though he still has a door. He is also a potential extra-dimensional gateway.
